Stay at Thornfalcon

Frequently Asked Questions

Check in at Thornfalcon Winery & Press is from 1500, and check out is by 1000.

Absolutely. Thornfalcon’s first drinks range is now available, and includes an English Sparkling Wine, Dry Rose Wine, two types of bottle-conditioned Fine Cider in champagne bottles, and an organic Apple Juice. Let us know what you would like, and we’ll have this chilled in your fridge ready for your arrival.

We will also be offering wine Tours & Tastings from August 2026 onwards, taking you into the vines, orchards, winery and cider press, and finishing with a tasting in our newly transformed Red Barn. Here are all the details, and how to book.

Thornfalcon produce boxes are available for guests from June to October, which include a selection of seasonal fruit and vegetables from our organic gardens and orchards, and eggs from our chickens, for £20. Let us know if you would like one!

Outside of these months, there may be produce available but it isn’t the peak growing season so the gardens are less plentiful. Do ask, and we’ll let you know what’s available.

Here are some of our favourites, with more details on each at our Journal post here:

  1. The Bird In Hand, North Curry - a thriving village pub 10 mins from Thornfalcon, or a one hour walk across the fields.
  2. The Barrington Boar, Barrington - fine pub dining in a picturesque village with a lovely National Trust property next door
  3. The Lord Poulett Arms, Hinton St George - excellent pub dining in a gorgeous location, with wood fires, and a cracking menu and wine list
  4. Burrow Hill’s Cider Bus Saturdays (May - Sept) - cider and cocktails from a double decker bus, and food trucks, picnics and occasional bands and acrobats in the cider orchards
  5. HOLM, South Petherton - fine dining, chef’s tasting menus and cutting edge, seasonal cuisine

Guests can swim in Thornfalcon’s lake before 0900 or after 1700, or by booking the sauna or hot tub on the lake’s shores for exclusive access..

The lake is also a wildlife habitat - as we share the lake with a wide selection of birds, fish and animals, we try to protect their needs and nesting timings as much as possible. This includes a resident family of swans who have their cygnets each year at Thornfalcon - Mr Swan can be rather protective when they are nesting, or when they have their young on the lake, so swimming is at your own risk.

Thornfalcon’s picturesque Wild Spa includes an off-grid, wood-fired Finnish sauna and traditional hot tub under the silver birch on the edge of the lake, inspired by Panu’s Finnish roots.

At the Wild Spa, everything is natural, and the sauna and hot tub are filled, lit and prepared individually for each guest. No chemicals or plastics are used, and guests can rejuvenate with a dip in the swimming lake, or under the cold shower.

We offer two sessions, on select days. Each includes the sauna, shower and lake, and the hot tub can be added on as an extra to the afternoon session, as it takes around 3 hours to fill and heat the hot tub. Book here.

The hot tub can be added on as an extra to the afternoon sauna session, as it takes around 3 hours to fill and heat the hot tub, which we do specially for each guest.

Thornfalcon has its very own Pilates Reformer studio in the stables, as well as a personal training gym. Further details, classes and one to one personal training can all be found and booked here.

We work with two brilliant independent masseurs who can provide treatments at Thornfalcon. Do get in touch directly if you would like further information, or to book.
